CD REVIEW: WE Festival 2002 – “WE Festival 2002”
By Stacey Board - 09/25/2002 - 08:06 PM EDT

Artist: Compilation: WE Festival 2002
Album: “WE Festival 2002”
CD Review: Wowie kazowie this is a CD chock full of great tracks from all sorts of genres and artists. The thread that brings them together is that they all participated in the 2002 WE Festival held in May, in Wilmington, North Carolina. I’m sorry that I missed out based on the solid chunk of talent represented here.

There is everything from loopy electronica to straight ahead folk singing. Add them up and you have 21 tracks with 21 different bands. All of them may not appeal to everyone but you will find a very large majority here that will, I bet you. It’s an eclectic mix of some top-notch talent.

This could have been a potential mixing/mastering nightmare (and maybe it was!) but you can’t tell that here. I’ve rarely heard such a well mixed compilation. Excellent work by the bands and the mixing/mastering house also.

Check out this record and check out the festival next year!
