CD Review: Do they still make albums like this? Apparently so. But what a trip. Back to the 70s, stopping over at the 80s for production. All instrumental, except for some chorus work on a couple tracks, Free Fallin’ is guitar champ Lloyd Gregory’s 4th album. In it he manages to evoke a lite jazz that is Very hard to replicate these days. How he does it, who knows.

‘Music is comprised of traditions,’ Lloyd explains, ‘even when mixed with innovations, so of course, every musician is building upon sounds that came before. I admire and respect those jazz guitarists and I learned a lot from them.’ From people like Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Bo Diddley – the greats.
