CD REVIEW: Craig Banks – “Wind the Clock”
By Stacey Board - 11/20/2003 - 10:08 PM EST

Artist: Craig Banks
Album: “Wind the Clock”
CD Review: “Wind the Clock” is a fine CD of well-played and written songs, full of interesting lyrics and a pleasing touch of soul throughout. Banks is a talented writer and a very fine guitar player.

Five of the 8 songs are co-written with T. Solange but the writing is seamless regardless of who does the writing. “Thank You”, one of my favorites, has some very tasty dobro sounding twang in the guitar work and some really nice keyboards in the arrangement. “Like a Bird” is also a standout, with a great hook and energy in the guitars.

“You’re Still Gone” gives us a great riff and rhythm as Banks writes about something we can all understand, that of love lost. Banks’ writing covers emotional territory that everyone can relate to, delivered with a passion and voice that is all his own.
