CD REVIEW: Sienna – “Steps”
By Stacey Board - 07/18/2004 - 03:36 PM EDT

Artist: Sienna
Album: “Steps”
CD Review: “Steps” is 12 songs of the Contemporary Christian genre, recorded with lush and layered production. The CD sounds like any Celine Dion record out there as far as depth of production technique. Sienna’s songs come in funk, reggae, ballads and pop styles but the lyrical message is always one of devotion in the Christian Faith. The variety she uses in her styles keeps the CD interesting as you listen to it.

Sienna’s voice is lovely. She has a nice range, flawless pitch and a very smooth, silky quality to her singing. Personally I prefer hearing it as in “Falling in Love” instead of being somewhat equal to the production. But I am well aware that most of America doesn’t agree with me. I’m sure the production will sound very appealing to radio listeners out there now.

These songs could stand alongside any song on the adult contemporary radio right now. They will of course be especially well received by those who find meaning with the Christian lyrics throughout the CD.
