Album: "If You Could Only See "
CD Review:
Genre: Adult Alteranative Sounds Like: ? Technical Grade: 9 Production/Musicianship Grade: 9 Commercial Value: 9 Overall Talent Level: 9 Songwriting Skills: 9 Performance Skill: 10 Best Songs: Single Weakness: ? CD Review: Roxie, a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Nashville, grew up in a musical family (her father, an accomplished musician, and her mother, an angelic vocalist) and cut her "teeth" on songs by such artists as Patty Loveless, Trisha Yearwood, and Reba McEntire. That's a nice line to put in a bio, but is her talent demonstrated in her own songs? The answer is a resounding yes!
Her single, "If You Could Only See," taken from her latest CD, "French Quarter Cafe," has a warm, organic feel to it that captures its sincerity and reflects how seasoned Roxie is as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and performer. It's an emotive ballad that touches on a subject that every broken hearted adult can relate to: taking a second chance on love after you've been hurt. The poignant story line juxtaposes pain with optimism that can offer hope to anyone who can find the strength to try their hand at love again. This is the kind of song that wins songwriting contests and awards.
Advice: Keep it up! You are definitely on the right track and headed in the right direction.
