Obedia - 24-hour Tech Support for Musicians
By Jerry Flattum - 06/15/2008 - 08:53 AM EDT

There's a new kid in town and he's not out to compete with ya.  He came to help.  Imagine that.

Obedia.

Actually, it's three new kids:  Steve Garth, Fred Maher and Jayce Murphy.  No doubt the crew will expand as the company grows.  These guys did a really unique thing.  It's one of those "duh" ideas, you know, "why didn't I think of that?"  Well, to come up with the idea and implement it are two different worlds.

And it's not so much an idea as it is fulfilling a serious need.

I know personally, having my own studio with a ton of hardware and software, tech issues are nearly a daily matter.  Some things you can handle on your own.  Some things you can't.  Drop the ego and go ahead and get the help you need, so you can get back to doing what you do best.

Obedia, a new online service providing 24 hour tech support for musicians, has answered a long awaited need.  Finding tech support from manufacturers can be timely and after your initial 3 month free support, costly.  Ever been up at 3am recording your best track and Pro Tools crashes?  Ever tried to install Native Instrument's Komplete 5 on your own?

The list of supported products is extensive and growing:

Ableton Live
Antares
Arturia
Digital Performer
Euphonix Artist Series
Garage Band
FL Studio
IKM Family
Logic
M-Audio
Native Instruments
Peak
PreSonus
Pro Tools Family
Reason
Sonar/Cakewalk
Sony Creative Family
Steinberg Family
Tascam Interfaces
Waves
