CD Review: She appears on the cover of her latest  project with a smile and a familiar face that let us guess from a first look that this will be a warm and serene musical experience. In fact it is. You feel comfortable with Cheryl Fare music after a first listen. This is a folk album with contaminations from pop, rock and country music. In the middle between Norah Jones and Joan Baez. It is also that kind of music that we European immediately recognize as American.

A collection of 12 ballads, all played with acoustic guitar and acoustic sounds. I guess these songs have been all written on guitar. The sound is very clear, recording, mixing and mastering are good. This gives to the CD a very pleasant sound.

Her voice is soft and nice to the ears, it conveys a sense of serenity to the listener. And probably this is what Cheryl wanted to achieve. Her singing fits perfectly with acoustic piano and guitar. She is also a writer, her latest book has been “seven steps to positive living”, and this reflects in her lyric writing. Her lyrics are intimate and talk about real life and human feelings, they tell about love and the pain of love but always with a positive touch. Her style can be best described by her own words “I’m wishing and thinking, hoping and weeping, One breath in, and one breath out, How do I do this, show me how”.

I would suggest this album to all the people that would love to spend a nice relaxing hour with an amicable voice and end up with a feel good sensation.
