CD REVIEW: The Painted ID self-titled album
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: The Painted ID
Website: http://www.thepaintedid.com/
Genre: Folk/Rock
CD Review:
Don't be scared by the name. What you get is a tight band with a great female lead. Tori Solomon makes every song her own, and not just because she co-wrote nearly all of them. She's got that smooth something that I can't put into words.

'Revolving Walls' is a summer's day if ever it could be put into song. Beautiful, and a professional sound. It's a cross between easy listening, folk, and light new age rock. I know, that's quite a cross. But they carry it well.

The quiet strength of 'Signature''s guitars make this one irresistible as well. The drums are energetic and give good backing here.

12 songs and 50 minutes. Plenty of smiles, and not at all what you'd expect the ID of the mind to contain. It would be nice to know that everything's this pretty and perky, deep down.
