CATAWBA COLLEGE OFFERS SONGWRITING SCHOLARSHIPS

Catawba College announces the availability of songwriting scholarships for the 2007-8 school year. Qualifying freshmen and transfer students can receive up to $2,500 for study at the Salisbury, North Carolina school (the renewable scholarship could total $10,000 over four years). Scholarships are also offered to instrumentalists and singers of rock, alternative, gospel, and other forms of popular music. The Catawba degree concentration in music business/popular music attracts talented musicians from across the country and enjoys a growing reputation through the success of its students and recent graduates. They include Dennis Reed, who beat out nearly 1300 college entrants to win the 9th BMI John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship.

THE GATE: ENTERTAINMENT MAGAZINE (http://www.thegate.ca/)
is continually on a quest for new music and we’re crossing any distance to offer a unique environment. Our latest project, Pause Off, is part of that plan.
