CD REVIEW: Cupid Cramp Music - Songbook One
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: Band: Cupid Cramp Music
Genre: Country
CD Review:
11 songs from a music publisher steeped in country tunes. Some good stuff here, including the opener 'Whisper to Your Heart', with its chorus of 'let me whisper to your heart / that my love is deeper than an ocean blue / let me whisper to your heart / that I love you more than that forever true / I'll rescue you'. Okay, the song is much better than the lyrics suggest; a bit too contrite and overused, old-fashion you might say. But that is how you've gotta write if you want to sell in today's music world. Take 'I Would Like To Be', with words of 'I'm going crazy cause the world abandoned me / cause the love you had for me is out of reach / makes me want to scream'. Simple stuff, but with the music there are some memorable moments.
