CD Review: This is the third album from country guitarist Danny Fast Fingers and has been released in September 2010. Danny is a very special guitarist who uses his 12 string guitar as the protagonist of all his songs. He is also a gifted musician and on these tracks he also plays Hammond organ, bass, piano, saxophone, electric guitar, banjo, pedal steel and harmonica. Many tracks see his musical partner Debra Parr on bass.

This is an album of original songs except for one, the cover of Sky Saxon’s “Just a dance”.

His music has many influences, from pop to blues, from rock to folk but its heart lies with country music. He is a country singer that can unite traditional and modern sounds. Influences can be found in the music of the Beatles and of the 70’s and 80’s folk and country music. Most tracks are uptempo and send you an immediate happy feeling.

The professional production, by Jamie Oldaker, and the arrangements give the album a very personal sound well recognizable. His country rock voice is perfect for this music and the tracks get a big kick from his interpretations. There are a couple of songs that do not match the high level of the album and this is probably due to Danny still growing ability as a composer and his will to experiment.

This is the perfect record for all country lovers looking for an album to play again and again.
