CD REVIEW: Bob Janis - First Vintage
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: Bob Janis
Genre: Folk
CD Review:
A 40 minute cd of 10 songs from an unknown genre. A shame in this age we have to label things, but labels make a lot of people more comfortable. So put your feet up and listen to rockability ('This Little Spot') or folk ballads like 'You Are My Private Life', plus Ringo-style 70s songs like 'On Manhattan Island'. However you define it, Bob is doing what comes natural, doing what he wants, which is what we should ALL be doing. This cd isn't for everyone, but it's for anyone needing a rest, a trip to the old country, those with a need for the positive.
