CD Review: Singer/songwriter Kristy Love Brooks is no stranger to the limelight as the seasoned performer and all-around entertainer has been a solo RCA recording artist, actress, and dancer singing along with one of the most successful R&B groups, The Platters with an established fan base in the United Kingdom. She is in the eyes of many, a true diva with her reputation in the music industry. With the release of “Songs of Love and Peace”, Kristy aims to create a new excitement and establish a “peace” movement in the mainstream dance music industry with single “All Over The World”. Her passionate, unique sound creates a variety of moods and tempos from mainstream dance and jazz to contemporary R&B and music with smooth tones that remind you of Roberta Flack and Sade.

The CD quickly takes flight with “All Over the World the perfect rocking ambient intro groove that serves inviting vocals against slamming Power Pop vibe, full-tilt rhythm section and mesmerizing vocal front from Brooks. Track 2 “Certified” presents a slow grinding follow-up that serves up methodical musical build, rich melody against heartfelt vocal delivery and grand slam chorus. This piece flows and ebbs its way through to emotional fruition making for an impressive follow-up statement. Track 3 “I’m Your Deejay” my personal favorite serves up a grooving ditty with impressive vibe, well placed Pop, Ambient Power Pop Dance Club textures, meshed against hypnotic vocal groove from Brooks. As the CD slowly unfolds I can hear the musicianship from everyone involved is clearly above the bar with impressive sampling, bass lines, slamming R&B-Pop esque type grooves and rhythms meshed against well placed  strings, piano, keyboard accents, exotic soundscapes, lush harmonies all l built upon a thick as a brick rhythm section. Song for song the effective combination of Brooks voice, world class songwriting is never called into question. Now turning our attention over to Brooks. As for her vocal abilities - she is quite impressive indeed. Her musical/vocal style is cut from the cloth of Anita Baker, Chaka Kahn, Roberta Flack, Sade and even Jos Stone - but I will add she can go toe to toe with any one of them vocally. Brooks showcases a crystal clear vibrato, with an appealing mezzo-soprano persona. All of this makes for a strong and confident vocal ability across the board. I really could listen to her sing all day – and I rarely say stuff like that. I especially like how her voice just sort of flows and ebbs melodically with the music. This latest CD from Brooks delivers 15 compelling tracks all providing an interesting snapshot of an amazing artist with thought provoking lyrical wisdom with messages that are positive, passionate and extremely captivating. From heartfelt “Gonna Love You More” to melodic “I’m Coming Home” to grooving “Make it Happen” and “Got You on my Mind” to jazzy Just a Little Care” and “Try Love” to smooth as silk “My Heart Beats for You” to hooky “Make a Better World” this CD has something for just about everyone. The CD ends with Track 15 “It Will Be Better.”’ the perfect wrap for a catalog like this.

All songs over 3.5 minutes tend to drag you to the finish line. There is no barcode on the back of the CD indicating a non-retail compatibility. Cover art and interleave photo presentation look a bit cheesy to me. The CD itself is not made of quality silk screen material. Som of the above atr not typical of World Class CD releases.

I like everything about Kristy Love Brooks she's truly an infectious artist that possesses a "Gold Standard" voice, look, songwriting, appeal, talent, vocal passion and overall artistic presence. She also is a very impressive songwriter and singer. From start to finish “Songs of Love and Peace” is an impressive catalog of music. The music is warm, marketable, uplifting and very passionate. The songwriting is an interesting snapshot of music from a clairvoyant artist. All songs are consistent musical experiences, each one possessing a unique personality, flair and signature groove.
