CD REVIEW: Marina - Let Me Dream
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: Marina
Genre: Pop
CD Review:
Her voice and mode of composition is much like Madonna in the Erotica and Ray of Lights years, when she was sometimes given basically just a piano to work with. Gothic and beautiful. Marina at least co-wrote everything on the cd. 'i don't regret the time we spent / before the walls fell in / but if i keep looking back / i'll only be what i have been'. That's from 'Leaving', one of the many pretty ballads from a distinctive voice. Sounds non-American, but I can't place the accent if I'm right. On the whole, wonderful.
