CD Review:
Poplord began playing their music in 2005 and this led to the release of their first cd Poplord later in March 2007. The second album was called Full/Filled and saw the light in August 2008. The group was soon recognized and appreciated for their fresh vocal harmonies and pleasant music tunes. The band is a trio and is formed by Tom Magill on keyboards and vocals ; Stan Schaffer on drums and vocals; Craig Daniel on guitar and vocals.
Their new album is called Poplord vs the Universe and has been released in January 2011. As they say they come from the land that produces quality grapes and raisins, named California. Their music is strongly influenced by the sound of sunny California its pop vocal honorable tradition. There are reminiscences of the Beach Boys and the later AOR music. Their vocal blend is really cool. It is easy to imagine that the three are also good friends as their singing is so smart together. It brings happiness to the ears of the listeners. The tunes show a solid ability as songwriters as well. I recommend to take a look at their beautiful and funny most recent video for the song "Change In Time For Monday". The video was produced by, and stars students at California State University Fresno. You can find it on youtube.
A good cd and a surprisingly gifted band who can mix with excellence new and traditional pop music. To be recommended to people who believe in the positive side of life.
