Genre: Rock
CD Review:
The resilience of talent is unmistakable, and necessary if you expect to get anywhere on the road of TV, tours, sales. Patti Rothberg had it all a couple years ago. EMI behind her, videos, tour bus, etc, etc. The great EMI folded and Patti was a mother without a country.
She has returned.
Cd from 1996, loud and rolling guitars from the first seconds of 'Smokejumpers' until they die at the end of 46 minutes. 'heroes have to die / heroes have to die / I just wanted to be recognized / heroes have to die / I don't want to have to sacrifice my life'. That's the chorus to the powerful opener. 'Cancer Cluster' grinds nicely as well, with words of 'cancer cluster / growing like a flower / cancer cluster / won't you use your power?' 'Mark of the Damned' is one of my favs, with a sort of progressive background to it. I mean, you can't dance to it. Nice guitar harmonies as well at the break. Good job. Just headbutting enough to click mainstream.
