CD Review: Over the course of the 6 years in which I have reviewed music, I have received CDs from teenagers who show a few sparks of greatness throughout their projects, only to fall into the clutches of mediocrity when compared to their older and more experienced peers. That was not the case with 18 year old singer/songwriter, Sara Haze, who in her debut, puts on a vocal and songwriting clinic that will make industry veterans applaud her, and peers in her age group deeply envious.

This project parallels the eminence of past teen prodigies such as LeAnn Rimes and Christina Aguilera while showcasing the full spectrum of her talents and the immensity of her star potential. With the aid of top-notch production by Spinbox Club, Elicit Music, Eric B. Fraley, and Grammy Award-winning Glen Ballard, she triumphs with songs that resonate with quality and showcase beautifully framed stories which speak to your heart and linger in your memory.

Her most commercial song, "The Big Lie," is a radio-friendly track that deals with self-love and poses the question, "How can I love you if I don't love me?" The premise is that if there is no self-love, it's a big lie - The Big Lie that many people tell and live. This song is a timeless classic that people will never grow tired of listening to, and Sara will never grow tired of singing.

Other stand out songs include the delicately profound "Balloon," the thought-provoking, "My Addiction," the tender ballad, "Dust From Stars," and the vocally demanding, "My Own Hands To Hold," which affords Sara the opportunity to bare her soul with power and agility that will appeal to R&B audiences. Most of these songs have been used in film and TV, but all of her songs have cross over appeal that Pop, Country, and AAA music lovers will instantly embrace and celebrate.

If Sara's goal is to get to the top of The Ladder, she doesn't have far to climb.
