John was a columnist here for a while but found he had no more time after his own career took off! :) . He's doing some great things now, so I hope you'll read his thoughts on electronic music and drop by his web site to see what he's up to these days. Thanks for being a part of The Muse's Muse, John! Best of luck with your musical future!

Hey there! My name is John Taglieri. I'm a singer, songwriter who like many of us is trying to make it in this world we call music. Each month I am going to attempt to take you on a fun little trip. As songwriters in this day and age of internet availability, there are more ways than just CD's for people to get our music into their hands. There's Wav, Real Audio, MP3, Liquid Audio, and new mediums popping up everyday. To some, these are a God send, a way to get exposure they never would have dreamed possible. To others, it's a nightmare, with what they feel is the end of royalty tracking and the total outbreak of the long fought battle against piracy of their music. I'm going to try to make sense of it all for you here. Feel free to join in and ask any questions you might have, I still have plenty myself. With the speed that new technology replaces old, it's hard to keep up. I'll be asking some of the best in the business what they think and piecing their answers and your questions into what I hope will be an informative, fun column for songwriters to learn more about their possible choices for promotion. Hope you stop by and, let the games begin!!
