AM Session:
Put Your Songs to the Test:
Testing Your Songs for “Doneness”
Bring a song (CD or cassette and two lyric sheets) and the Luboffs will show you how to conduct ten tests for “doneness.” Learn how to tell if your song communicates the message you intended in a clear and focused way.

PM Session:
Taking Your Songs to the Market:
Life's a Pitch And Then You Get Cuts
This workshop is about what happens after the song is “done.” Topics covered: What to do before you make a demo; the most important components of good demos; the demo-making process; finding contacts; research methods for determining appropriate song casting: submission package guidelines; what to do when someone wants to record your song; being your own publisher; and the self-produced songwriter artist.

Pat & Pete Luboff have recordings by Snoop Dogg (“Trust Me,” the first single from the platinum-selling album “Top Dogg”) Patti LaBelle (gold album and the title song for “Body Language: the Musical”), Bobby Womack (No. 2 on Billboard’s Black Music chart), on Michael Peterson’s new CD, recently charting Miko Marks, and more. They’ve been teaching songwriting workshops together since 1979. They lead The Sounding Board songwriting think tank in Nashville every Monday night. The Luboffs are the authors of the new Writer’s Digest book “101 Songwriting Wrongs and How to Right Them” and “12 Steps to Building Better Songs,” which they self-publish.

The Luboffs will be available for a limited number of private consultations on Sunday, June 29. For more information on the workshop and/or to reserve your consultation, visit http://www.writesongs.com
