SONGWRITING SEMINAR & CONTEST
Deadline to submit songwriting entries: August 15, 2008
EDEN, Utah -- (May 15, 2008) – Wolf Creek Utah will welcome Grammy award-winning songwriters, Kim Williams and Doug Johnson, for the launch of “Songwriting in the Mountains” music seminar and competition. The two-day event being held August 22-23, 2008 is designed to educate and inspire new songwriting talent, and will also feature hit songwriter, Amanda Williams and a special surprise guest.
Seminar events will be conducted by the award-winning songwriters, along with four other top music-industry professionals. Spaces are limited and interested participants are urged to register in advance. Registered participants will be invited to attend songwriting workshops, an open microphone performance by the top 10 finalists of the songwriting contest, and a private dinner party with the music professionals featuring a special concert. After two full days of songwriting with the stars, all participants will receive free entrance to the return performance by Nashville singer, Eric Heatherly, at the “Music in the Mountains” concert series held at Wolf Mountain on Saturday, August 23.
To be eligible for the songwriting contest, competitors must submit their song entry(s), no later than August 15, 2008. The winning song will be announced at the seminar, and the winner will have their song presented to professional music labels and be invited to join in on a Nashville demo session with three high-level industry professionals. Contestants do not have to be present at the seminar to win.
Participants in the songwriting competition may enter an unlimited amount of songs. Please note all entries MUST include a CD, lyrics and $25 for each individual song. All entries may be submitted to:

For those interested in attending “Songwriting in the Mountains,” Wolf Creek Utah is offering an all-access package special which includes admission to all events taking place at the seminar. The “Songwriting in the Mountains” package is $275 per person or $250 if purchased by a NSAI member. • Kim Williams- Along with Doug Johnson, Williams has won a Grammy award, Dove award and CMA award. Together they have more than 15 hit songs including “3 Wooden Crosses.”
• Doug Johnson- Johnson is Vice President of Curb Records with more than 40 hit songs. He and has written seven number one singles and thirteen “Top 10” singles including the 2003 CMA, ACM, NSAI, and CCMA Song of the Year, “3 Wooden Crosses.”
• Amanda Williams- Williams’ penned country music hit song “Beer Run,” by Todd Snider, and has also written duets for George Jones and Garth Brooks.
