Epic Progressive Metal quartet Phoenix & Dragon plays grand 2015 year-ender show in Mesa, AZ
Date: Nov 24, 2015
One of Arizona's top virtuoso acts, symphonic progressive metal band Phoenix & Dragon are back with their newest lineup as they top the year off with another explosive performance at Club Red Theatres on December 18th. The band has recently had a successful performance with legendary American progressive metal greats Fates Warning on October 29th at the same venue.
The night will be filled with a rapid-fire dose of diverse heavy metal acts featuring some of the valley's favorites: Deathgrip, Bleed The Fifth, and Bekkoning.
The event is hosted by Jeffy Presents, a promising promotional machine owned by talented musician Jeffrey Robens Jr., formerly of the band Killing Spree, and now the lead singer for Virulent.
PHOENIX & DRAGON:
The bandís very first full live lineup was not completed until Thanksgiving of 2008 after the steady addition of original core members. These group of musicians, including former and original members, play with spectator-oriented classically-trained musicianship. Phoenix & Dragonís current line-up is: Teddy Arunski on guitar, Jermaine Mars on bass, Jonathan Gabriel, Jr. on keyboards, and newest member Seth Gibson on drums.
Performing as an instrumental band since 2009, The band has shared the stage with the likes of Symphony X, Queensryche, Fates Warning, Quiet Riot, Michael Angelo Batio, 3 Inches Of Blood, Mayhem, Sabaton, Blackguard, Powerglove, Fair To Midland, Abigail Williams, Immolation, Arkona, Turisas, Y&T, and Adrenaline Mob. Most recently, the band has also played the main stage at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena with Upon A Burning Body during the latterís All Stars Tour in 2015 at the Treasure Fest festival in Whittier, CA.
Phoenix & Dragon has completed a successful Northwest U.S. Summer Tour in 2012 with former Italian Power Metal singer Fabio Gentile. After Gentileís departure, Phoenix & Dragon went back to its roots and performed as an instrumental act until October of 2014, when opera-trained Danny Aiello then joined and performed with the band as frontman for a few months before deciding on taking on a different path as a music teacher and guitar player.
As of September of 2015, Phoenix & Dragon is back as an instrumental act, exactly the same way they powered through the local music scene since the beginning.
