CD Review:
Pawl is starting to become a prolific artist, it is already his second cd that I review. And with great pleasure. This is definitely a more mature work.
First of all I have to say that he is a gifted songwriter, capable of moving effortlessly between intimate emotional revelations and nice light uptempos – often within the same song. He is able to write excellent pop rock songs with a touch of soul. His vocals are warm and emotional. The opening song, “The dream is us” can definitely be a song written by an expert successful songwriter. "In the garden" is a small jewel.
Archetypes is consistently good, an apt showcase for Paul ability to write feel-good pop songs, with satisfying rhythms and hooky choruses. The sincere passion for music, that I guess is his life, is one of the defining characteristics of the album and is really enough to make you buy the album
Overall, it’s a very accomplished work from an unknown performer that is packed with raw flair and promise, blending ambition with earthy grounding and deserving further opportunities to expand.
